Pick up is at El Calafate at 07:30 am, then we travel for 33 km, by the provincial route Nº 5 to the east, and then 67 km to the North by the national route Nº 40. During this passage, we can see the Lago Argentino, the Santa Cruz River, and the La Leona River. Between El Calafate and El Chaltén, you will travel for 14 km in a kayak on La Leona River ( for about 2 hours), starting at the old Stall Luz Divina and ending at the Turbio stream. All kayaks are double, and guides are specialized instructors. The trekking is halfway through the Cerro Los Hornos and lasts for approximately two hours, where you can observe petrified logs, bones, and one of the oldest rock formations on the planet. This area is unlike anything else you can see at the rest of the National Park, as the arid contrast of the landscape and the turquoise color of the La Leona River make you think of how this areas would have been millions of years ago, while they remained under water.
