This is a tour for people who enjoy walking on recondite places. Ideal for travelers who wants to feel like they are the first ones to discover the places they visit.
Pick up starts from El Calafate at 8:00 am, we travel 50km to Lago Roca and we get into a small boat (17 passengers max) to navigate the South Face of Lago Argentino.
After navigating for 45 minutes, we get to the Brazo Sur, place where the first part of the hike starts, headed to Lago Frias. The hike is easy and it takes about 1 hour to arrive to the viewpoint of Lago Frias. The hike continues up to the shore of Lago Frias where we are going to get into zodiacs and navigate to the west.
Once we cross it, the second part of the hike to Frias Glacier starts. There we will see green mountains, impressive fossils and the Cordillera de Los Andes. (Southwest part of National Park)
After walking for about one hour and a half, we will arrive to an outstanding viewpoint where three glaciers meet into an amazing ice lake.
Once we get there, we have lunch enjoying the views for about one hour and then we make our way back, arriving to Calafate around 19:00hs.
